How to host your Lovable or Bolt site
By the ContentMetric team · Checked on 17 October 2026

The short answer
You can leave it where it is: both Lovable and Bolt host the site they build, and you can add your own domain on a paid plan. Or you can move it. Connect it to GitHub, then deploy from there to a host such as Netlify, Cloudflare Pages or Vercel. Or rebuild it as a normal website on a builder like ContentMetric, by chat.
You built a site by chatting with an AI tool. It looks good in the preview. Now the practical question: where does it live, what does that cost, and who looks after it? This page answers that for Lovable and Bolt, using their own help pages, checked on 17 October 2026. We make ContentMetric, a different kind of tool, and we say clearly below when it is and is not the right answer. We do not import Lovable or Bolt code into ContentMetric.
The short answer
- Easiest: publish from inside Lovable or Bolt. Both host the site for you.
- Your own domain: a custom domain needs a paid plan on both Lovable and Bolt.
- Move it yourself: sync the code to GitHub, then deploy it from there to a host that builds from a repository.
- Not a developer, just need a business site: rebuild it on a normal website builder by chat. See the last section.
First, what kind of project did you build?
This changes everything. There are two kinds:
- A brochure site: pages, text, pictures, a contact form. Anyone can move this.
- An app: sign-in, a database, payments, saved data. Moving this means moving the data and the back end too.
Lovable runs a built-in back end that it calls Cloud, with sign-in, a database and file storage. Moving only the front end to a new host is the easy part. Its own guide treats the back end and data as a separate, harder move.
Option 1: stay on Lovable or Bolt hosting
Bolt
Bolt says it includes built-in hosting. You publish to a live address ending in .bolt.host with no outside account. Plans, from its pricing page:
- Free, $0: website hosting up to 333,000 web requests, and a Bolt badge on the site.
- Pro, $25 a month (billed monthly): no Bolt badge, up to 1 million web requests, and custom domain support.
Two details matter. Bolt says that if you hit your plan's hosting limit, the site stops displaying publicly until your usage resets at the start of your next billing cycle. And if you downgrade from Pro to Free, you can no longer republish to a custom domain, and the badge comes back.
Lovable
Lovable hosts the app for you, with custom domains and HTTPS. Its custom domain page says custom domains are available on paid plans. Its own guide says you are never locked in: you can export your code, move your data, or move to another provider at any time. We did not verify Lovable's hosting costs today, so check your plan before you rely on it.
Choose this if you are happy with the tool, you will keep building in it, and you do not mind paying monthly.
Option 2: move it to your own host
Both tools let you take your code with you.
Step 1: get the code out
- Lovable: use Git sync, which is on all plans, to connect the project to a repository on GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. Or use Download codebase on a paid plan, which gives a one-time .zip file.
- Bolt: connect a GitHub repository to your project. Bolt says this backs up your code with a history of changes outside Bolt, and that you can then publish with Bolt hosting, its Netlify integration, or another service. Bolt also lets you download a project.
Neither route includes the records in your database or the files in storage. Those move separately.
Step 2: choose a host
Lovable's guide names these as common hosts that build from a Git repository: Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, Vercel, AWS Amplify Hosting, Azure Static Web Apps and Google Firebase Hosting. Facts from the vendors' own pages:
- Netlify, Cloudflare Pages: both are on Lovable's list and both offer a way to start for free. Read each one's current terms and limits before you rely on them for a business.
- Vercel: its Hobby plan is $0, but Vercel says Hobby is for personal, non-commercial use. A business site needs its Pro plan, $20 a month.
That Vercel note matters. A free plan labelled personal and non-commercial is not meant for a company site.
Step 3: deploy
Lovable's guide says the build depends on how your project was made. Open package.json in the Code tab to tell:
- Older React + Vite apps build to static files in a folder called
dist. Any static host can serve them, with a fallback toindex.htmlfor page routes. - Newer TanStack Start apps (Lovable says projects created from 13 May 2026) run server code. They need a host that runs the server part. A host that only serves files will not run those features.
On Netlify, Cloudflare Pages or Vercel, you connect the repository, set the build command to npm run build and use Node.js 22. You also copy across the environment variables your app needs, and add your new address to the sign-in allowed list if you use sign-in. Each push to the branch then triggers a new deployment.
Step 4: point your domain
Your host will give you DNS records to add at your domain registrar. Then wait. Check the new site fully (forms, sign-in, every page) before you switch the domain from the old address.
What you take on
Lovable lists what becomes your job when the site runs outside it: the deployment pipeline, production variables, uptime, logs, and fixing problems. Its team cannot monitor or debug a host it does not control. If you have no developer, that is a real cost. Treat "free hosting" as a small part of the bill.
Option 3: rebuild it as a normal website, by chat
If what you built is a business website, and you do not need an app with sign-in and a database, you may not need any of the above. A website builder handles hosting, domain, SSL and updates for you.
ContentMetric works like this: you describe your business and it builds the site, and you change it by asking in the editor. This is a rebuild, not an import. We do not read Lovable or Bolt code. You bring your text, pictures and ideas, and rebuild the pages. Here is what that costs:
- Free, US$0: 30 credits a month, one site, a contentmetric.com address, a small badge. Not a trial.
- Pro, US$49 a month (US$470 a year): your own domain, 150 credits a month, the badge can be hidden, and a design specialist who designs your site and handles updates.
A credit is one AI change. A site on the free address is not listed by search engines, so you need Pro and your own domain to be found on Google. See our pricing and how to connect a domain.
Rebuild here if your site is mostly pages and a contact form, and you want someone else to keep it running. Do not if it is a custom app with accounts, a database or logic only your code can do. Host that yourself, as above.
Which one should you pick?
| Your situation | Pick |
|---|---|
| It works, you keep building in the tool | Stay on its hosting |
| You have a developer, or want to learn | Git to Netlify, Cloudflare Pages or Vercel |
| It is an app with a database and users | Host it yourself, with a developer's help |
| It is a business website and you want it looked after | Rebuild on a builder |
Before you do anything
- Keep a copy of the code and your text and images somewhere safe.
- Do not turn off the old site until the new one works.
- Read whether it is safe to let AI edit your website before you give any AI tool access.

Common questions
Can I host a Lovable site anywhere?
Yes, with some work. Lovable says you are never locked in. You can sync your code to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket or download it on a paid plan. Older React and Vite apps build to static files that any static host can serve. Newer apps run server code and need a host that runs a server.
Is Bolt hosting free?
Bolt's free plan includes website hosting up to 333,000 web requests and shows a Bolt badge. A custom domain needs the Pro plan, which is $25 a month billed monthly. If you pass your plan's limit, the site stops displaying publicly until your usage resets.
Can ContentMetric import my Lovable or Bolt site?
No. We do not import code from either tool. You can rebuild the site on ContentMetric by describing your business and changing it in chat, and carry across your own text and images.
Which free host is safe for a business site?
Check each host's own terms. Vercel says its free Hobby plan is for personal, non-commercial use, so a business site needs its paid plan. Read the terms of any other free plan the same way before you rely on it.
