Made a website in Claude Design? How to put it live

The short answer

Claude Design does not host websites, so you need to move your design somewhere that does. There are three ways: send it straight to a service like Netlify, Vercel or Wix from the Send to menu; export it as a .zip or standalone HTML and upload it to any host; or import the HTML into a website builder so you can keep editing it there. Whichever you choose, add page titles and descriptions for Google and test the contact form before you share the link.

Why your design is not live yet

Claude Design, which Anthropic launched in April 2026, is a design tool. You can share a design with other people for viewing, comments or editing, but Anthropic's help pages do not describe any public hosting. A website needs three things Claude Design does not give you: a host (a computer that serves the pages to visitors), a web address, and a way for visitors to contact you.

One more reason to export it soon: Anthropic says the standalone version at claude.ai/design closes on 14 December 2026, as Claude Design moves into the main Claude app. Keep your own copy of anything important.

Option 1: Send it to another service

Open your design, then the export menu, and choose Send to. Anthropic lists Adobe, Base44, Canva, Gamma, HubSpot, Hyperframes, Lovable, Miro, Netlify, Replit, v0, Vercel and Wix. For a website, the useful ones fall into two groups:

  • Hosts (Netlify, Vercel): fast and reliable, but made for developers. You get the files online; forms, search settings and later edits are up to you.
  • Builders (Wix, Lovable, Replit, v0, Base44): you keep working on the site inside that service. Check its plan for a custom domain and contact forms.

Option 2: Export the files and upload them

From the export menu, choose Download as .zip or Export as standalone HTML. You get ordinary web files that any host can serve. Netlify, for example, lets you drag a folder onto a page to put it online.

This is the most flexible route and the hardest to keep up. Every change means editing in Claude Design, exporting again and uploading again, and if a colleague edits the live files directly, the two copies drift apart.

Option 3: Import it into a website builder

If the design is for your main business site, you will want to edit it next month without a developer. Importing the HTML into a website builder turns your design into editable sections with hosting, forms and search settings around it.

In ContentMetric, for example:

  1. Export your design from Claude Design as a .zip.
  2. Open your site in the ContentMetric editor and press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) to open the command search.
  3. Choose Import Site and pick the .zip, or choose Import HTML to paste a single page. The HTML becomes blocks you can edit on the page.
  4. Preview, then publish. Changes stay as a draft until you press Publish.

From then on you can keep editing by hand, with the built-in AI, or with Claude itself through a connector. See Connect Claude to your website.

Before you share the link: a 5-point check

  • Page titles and descriptions. Each page needs its own, written for a customer searching on Google.
  • Real contact details. The same name, phone and address as your Google Business Profile.
  • A working form. Send a test message from your phone and check it arrives.
  • Phone view. Most visitors arrive on a phone. Check every page at phone width.
  • Tell Google. Add the site to Google Search Console and submit it. Our lesson How to get your business on Google shows how.

Common questions

Can Claude Design publish a website?

Not on its own. Anthropic's help pages describe sharing a design with people for viewing, commenting or editing, and exporting it, but not public hosting. Send it to a host, upload the exported files, or import it into a website builder.

How do I export a website from Claude Design?

Open the design, go to the export menu, and choose Download as .zip or Export as standalone HTML. You can also use Send to for services like Netlify, Vercel or Wix, or hand the design to Claude Code.

Can I use my own domain with a Claude Design website?

Yes, once it is hosted somewhere that supports custom domains. The domain is connected at the host or website builder, not in Claude Design.

Is Claude Design free?

Anthropic says Claude Design is available on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Hosting the finished website is a separate cost wherever you put it.
