Use the SEO panel in the editor to set each page's title, description, social image and FAQ entries, and to hide a page from search engines.
Search engines show a title and a short description for every page. You can set both yourself, page by page.
Open the panel
- Go to Site in the left rail and open the page you want.
- In the narrow strip of buttons down the left, click SEO.
The panel shows a preview of how the page is likely to look in a search result as you type.
What each field does
- Title is the headline in search results. Keep it under the character count shown, or it gets cut off. Left blank, the page title is used.
- Description is the sentence underneath. Write it for a person, not a search engine: say what the page offers and why someone should click.
- Canonical URL tells search engines the one true address for this page. Leave it empty unless you have the same content at more than one address.
- Social image is the picture shown when someone shares the page on social media or in a chat app.
- Hide from search engines keeps the page out of search results. Use it for a thank you page or a page still being worked on.
- FAQ lets you add question and answer pairs. These are published in a form search engines understand and can show directly in results.
Every change is saved to your draft, so press Publish for it to count.
Common questions
How long until Google shows my new title?
That is up to Google. It can take days or weeks after you publish.
Do I have to fill this in for every page?
No. Pages without a title or description still work. Filling in your most important pages first is a sensible order.
Where do I set the name and details of the business itself?
Open Settings for the site and go to General, then the Business details section.
