Accept a site we built for you

What happens when someone sends you a site, how to accept it into your workspace, and what to do if your workspace already has its one free site.

Updated 8 Oct 2026

Sometimes we build a site for you first and hand it over. You get an email called "wants to hand you the site", from the person who built it. The site becomes yours: you choose its plan and who can edit it.

Accept it

  1. Open the email and click Review and accept. If you do not have an account yet, you are asked to sign up first, then brought straight back.
  2. Sign in with the same email address the offer was sent to. An offer works for that address only.
  3. Under Workspace, choose the workspace that should own the site, or choose Create a new workspace and give it a name.
  4. Click Accept.

The site arrives on the Free plan, exactly as you saw it. Choose a plan for it whenever you want a custom domain, no badge, more AI credits or the Shop. See Upgrade, pay, and find your receipts.

An offer stays open for seven days. After that, ask the sender to send a new one.

If your workspace is full

Free and Pro workspaces hold one site, and Business holds three. If the workspace you chose already has its one site, the page says so and the Accept button waits. You have two ways forward:

  • Delete the site that is in the way, then accept. This asks you to confirm and cannot be undone.
  • Move it to Business, which has room for three sites, then come back and accept.

You can also choose a different workspace, or create a new one.

Common questions

Will the person who built it still have access? Only if they asked to stay on as an editor to help out. The offer says so, and you can remove them at any time.

Can I decline? Yes. Ignore the email and nothing changes.
