Use a promo code

Where to type a promo code at checkout, what it can apply to, and what happens after.

Updated 27 Sept 2026

Some offers come with a promo code that lowers what you pay.

Where to type it

  1. Start upgrading a site to a paid plan, the same way as Upgrade, pay, and find your receipts.
  2. On the payment step, choose Have a code?.
  3. Type the code and choose Apply.

If the code is valid, the page shows the new price straight away, struck through against the original price, before you pay anything.

What a promo code can apply to

  • A promo code only works on a yearly plan. If you have chosen monthly billing, the page offers to switch you to yearly and apply the code in one step.
  • A promo code only works for a workspace that has never paid before. If your workspace already has a paid plan on any site, the code will not apply, even to a different site.
  • A code only discounts the first year. After that, the site renews at the normal yearly price, and you will see the renewal date and that price before you pay.

If the code does not work

  • "That code isn't valid. Check the spelling and try again." The code is misspelled, or the offer has ended.
  • "This code is for yearly plans." Switch to yearly billing first.
  • "This code is for new customers. Your workspace already has a paid plan history." The code only works for a workspace's first paid plan.

Common questions

Can I add a code after I have already paid? No. A promo code is applied at checkout, before you pay.

Will I be charged the discounted price every year? No. The discount covers the first year only. Your receipt and the payment step both show what you will pay when the plan renews.

Where do I see that a code was used? Your workspace's Billing page and the receipt for that payment both show the code that was applied.
